importance of transferable life skills. Campers interact within small groups on activities designed to encourage: problem solving, communication, brainstorming, listening skills, leadership, goal setting, focus, competition, positive attitude, perseverance, and the like.
After working together to complete their tasks, we process through their experiences together. Campers share their thoughts, what skills they used to be successful, and how the experience is transferable. The importance of those skills being used in school, at home, in friendships, and in their sports is the culminating point drawn from this sport (“life”) psychology lesson.
